In a move to tackle skyrocketing egg prices, President Trump’s administration is taking swift action to protect American consumers. The plan? Import hundreds of millions of eggs from allies like Turkey and South Korea, while ramping up domestic recovery efforts in the wake of the devastating bird flu outbreak.

“American families shouldn’t be paying outrageous prices for basic groceries,” said Agriculture Secretary Brooke Rollins at the White House. “We’re putting America First by making sure eggs are affordable again—starting now.”

President Trump, true to his word, launched a $1 billion plan to fight the bird flu crisis that forced U.S. farmers to cull millions of chickens. The strategy includes $500 million in biosecurity upgrades, $100 million in vaccine research, and $400 million in direct support for struggling farmers.

Commercial farms will get expert consulting for free, with the government covering up to 75% of the cost to secure poultry operations against future outbreaks.

Egg prices became a hot issue in Trump’s last campaign, and he’s wasted no time addressing it early in his second term. “Joe Biden let prices spiral out of control,” Trump said in a recent address to Congress. “Under my leadership, we’re bringing them back down.”

With eggs being imported temporarily and American farms on the rebound, the Trump administration is proving once again that when America is in crisis, strong leadership delivers results.
