President Donald J. Trump is following through on his promise to protect American interests by enforcing 25% tariffs on Canada and Mexico starting March 4, along with a new 10% tariff on Chinese imports. These bold moves aim to combat illegal drug trafficking, secure America’s borders, and push back against unfair trade practices.

After delaying tariffs for a month to allow Canada and Mexico to step up border security, Trump found their efforts lacking. In a firm statement, he declared:

“We cannot allow this scourge to continue to harm the USA. The proposed TARIFFS scheduled to go into effect on MARCH FOURTH will, indeed, go into effect, as scheduled. China will likewise be charged an additional 10% Tariff on that date.”

Trump’s decisive action holds China accountable for its role in fentanyl trafficking. The U.S. dollar surged as markets responded positively to his tough trade stance, while Canada’s and Mexico’s currencies weakened.

Despite opposition, Trump remains steadfast in his commitment to American sovereignty. Global leaders may seek last-minute deals, but Trump is clarifying that America will not be taken advantage of.
