A sweeping recall has been issued for 39 common generic drugs made by Glenmark Pharmaceuticals after the FDA flagged serious manufacturing violations at its Indian plant. The agency gave the recall a Class II risk level, meaning the drugs could cause temporary or reversible health issues, though serious harm is considered unlikely.

These medications, used for seizures, cholesterol, blood pressure, infections, and diabetes, were distributed nationwide, including at Amazon and Walmart. All were produced at Glenmark’s Madhya Pradesh, India facility, which the FDA says failed to prevent contamination, properly test batches, or maintain quality control.

Though the FDA hasn’t reported confirmed injuries, Glenmark’s track record is alarming. The same facility was linked to three deaths and multiple hospitalizations in 2024 due to other faulty medications.
