The FDA has officially classified the MadeGood granola bar recall as Class II, meaning consumption may cause temporary or medically reversible health issues due to potential metal contamination.
Riverside Natural Foods first recalled over 2.4 million cases of granola bars in December after discovering the hazard. The affected products – sold nationwide and internationally, include chocolate chips, mixed berries, strawberries, two holiday editions, and more. Some bars were also included in variety packs. A complete list of impacted products, along with UPC codes and best-by dates, is available on the FDA’s website.
The recall was updated on February 11, confirming that the bars may still contain metal pieces. While no injuries were reported during the original recall, the risk remains. If consumed, these bars could cause serious harm, particularly to children and those with sensitive digestive systems.
Consumers who purchased the recalled products should immediately stop eating them and return them for a full refund. Check MadeGood’s official retailers for safety concerns or contact the company directly.
