The term “Go Green” is generally used in the context of ways to become more environmentally friendly. However, we can use the same term to describe changes we can make in our diet. Going green in our diet means adding more nutrient-rich foods that are loaded with antioxidants and health-promoting compounds. Green foods are good for us when they come in the form of fresh and organic fruits and vegetables.
Although there are a number of green foods to choose from, a few stand out as being really great for our health. Among these are kale, a leafy green, Brussels sprouts, tiny cabbages with edible sprouts, and avocados, fruits that are rich in healthy fat.
Be sure that you include at least one green, healthy food on your plate at each meal. One great way to make sure you get your greens is to have a green smoothie. Adding some green to your smoothie can aid in weight loss efforts in a variety of ways.
