It is that time of year when I am traveling more, working longer hours and not getting enough sleep. Not to mention it is really cold outside. All of it can cause my immune system to be taxed and I can become run down. This is when I often come down with a cold or even the flu.
There is nothing better than having a hot drink to help me feel better when I feel a cold coming on. The warm tea helps me feel warmer and soothes me as I drink it. This tea is full of great ingredients. I can also drink it as often as I need to in order to get some much-needed relief from a cold or the flu. The simple ingredients are ones that I easily have on hand.
The next time you feel that cold or flu sneaking up on you, just mix up this hot cup of tea. It really helps me to start feeling better quickly. I am sure it will do the same for you.
Ingredients
- 1 packet of tea
- 1 tbsp honey
- 2 tsp lemon juice
- 2 cinnamon sticks
- 1 tsp ground cloves
- 1/4 tsp cayenne pepper
Equipment
- Tea cup
- Hot water
Instructions
1. Gather all ingredients.
2. Measure the ingredients.
3. Add the honey, lemon juice, cloves and cayenne pepper to the tea cup.
4. Add the tea bag, cinnamon sticks and a few lemon slices.
5. Carefully pour hot water over all.
6. Let steep for 2 to 4 minutes. Top with lemon wedges if you like. Enjoy!
