Georgia Teacher Compares Trump Slogan To Swastika, Then THIS Happened

Georgia High School math Teacher Lyn Orletsk has been in the limelight lately due to her classroom dress code policy. She sparked controversy when she told two students to leave one of her classes because they were wearing T-shirts with the “Make America Great Again” slogan.

Take a look at the video yourself:

Teacher compares Trump slogan to swastika

As seen in the video, she claims that since you can’t wear a swastika to school, you shouldn’t be able to wear shirts that contain the “MAGA” slogan, since it is associated with neo-nazis. Further in her defense, she argues that President Trump isn’t the reason why the students can’t wear their shirts. She told the students that if they wanted to stay, they would have to turn their shirts inside out.

After the video went viral, the Cherokee County School District apologized and said that the students were not in any trouble. On Friday, the school district sent a letter to all parents saying that Orletsk was no longer going to be teaching in the classroom and had been replaced by a substitute teacher.

“Her actions were wrong, as the ‘Make America Great Again’ shirts worn by the students are not a violation of our school district dress code,” Cherokee County Schools spokeswoman Barbara Jacoby told the Atlanta Journal Constitution.

School stays quiet on disciplinary action

The phrase “Make America Great Again” has been used in past, such as President Ronald Reagan’s 1980 presidential campaign.

The school district will not say whether the teacher will be fired or not. In a statement, administrators said, “We can’t discuss ongoing administrative investigations or disciplinary action.”

What do you think? Was the teacher correct, or was this over the line? Let us know in the comments below!
